The thing that he likes most about nature is the animals. How different everything is and how they all work together to make communities.
His favorite animal is the Pika because it is a small, cute, furry creature. He desperately wanted to find one on our travels last summer, but we will just have to plan another trip to look again! He loves asking people if they know what it is and then telling them that it looks a bit like a hamster, but larger and that it is actually more related to rabbits.
He likes camping. He likes to explore on his own and also with family and friends. When we do a nature walk, he wants to be in the front to scout for little creatures. On one recent walk, we discovered a caterpillar. He asked me to look it up, and we found that it was an Echo Moth. He made sure it safely made it to the side of the path. Then as we walked on, we realized the path was filled with them. He was on caterpillar look-out to ensure we did not step on any.
