Everest LOVES all things nature. Kayaking, hiking, catching bugs to identify them, and learning about our native plants and animals.
Thank you for generously supporting Everest in this year’s competition. Your participation helps empower the National Wildlife Federation in their mission to protect wildlife, restore habitats, and inspire the next generation of conservationists.
What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreEverest loves how beautiful and unique every single creature on the planet is. He loves to identify new bugs and snakes! You can catch him out in rocky areas looking for fossils, in our local fresh water streams spotting frogs, and hiking our favorite local trails!
That’s a toss up between garter snakes and dinosaurs. He loves garter snakes for their colorful skin, and sweet personality. He loves to observe and carefully handle them with adult supervision. Dinosaurs are equally his favorite because he loves how we can find clues in our fossils and see how the earth looked long ago. He loves to learn about new dinosaurs and how they lived long ago.
Hiking and kayaking are Everest’s FAVORITE! Amongst the various trails we have close to us, his favorite is exploring the land we have right outside our front door! Our favorite trail that we’ve hiked is Lost Valley because of the beautiful rock formations. We have tons of rivers in our area that are so much fun to float. The last river we kayaked was King’s River, and we can’t wait to float the Buffalo River this summer!
