Start Their AdventureShe is an explorer, and loves to discover new things outside--whether it be birds' nests, pill bugs that curl up in her palm, or pretty leaves of all shapes and sizes. She loves to travel to explore the wildlife in new places--such as hiking to a waterfall in El Yunque rainforest, or seeing the wild ponies in Chincoteague Island, VA. After a long day of school, she loves to put on her boots and adventure in our own backyard. She especially loves making up imaginary worlds in forts she builds.
Her favorite animal are sloths "because they are cute." She is also really looking forward to seeing one (or more!) in the wild when we travel to Costa Rica in a few weeks. Our nearby science museum has a sloth on display, and she has also been able to visit it in the butterfly pavilion several times. She even got to see it crawl down the tree to retrieve a bit of sweet potato it had dropped!
Her favorite outdoor activity is anything involving water--whether it be wading in creeks, swimming in lakes, or jumping in waves in the ocean. She also swims for our community swim team every summer--this will be her fourth year. She has spent a good amount of time searching for arrowheads in creeks near our home, but has yet to find one of her own (someday!). She hopes to one day swim with whales.
