What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreHe loves how nature changes and how things grow. He loves the changes that come with the transition of the seasons. His favorite season is Spring, because it brings all of the plants and animals back to life. He shows such a compassion for all living things, no matter their size. He rescued a monarch caterpillar from an aphid invasion and watched it transform into a butterfly. Releasing "Flappy" is one of his fondest memories.
His favorite animal is the Kea. He loves how smart and mischievous they are. He also loves that they are referred to as the "clown of the mountains." He hopes to one day meet a kea and that they are able to no longer be endangered.
If he had to pick one activity, it would be hiking. He especially loves hiking near water so that he can investigate the lakes, creeks, rivers and streams for all of the native creatures and plant life.
