What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreGetting dirty! The day is not complete if he's not covered in mud or dirt. But besides the 'feel' of nature, Easton loves plants and animals. He's always looking for ways to help. A favorite past time is building bridges for bugs over the small creek in our yard.
Right now his favorite animal would be any bug. Rolly pollies, ladybugs, snails, and slugs are top contenders right now. He likes that he can catch them easily, but we also spend a lot of time discussing how all plants and animals are important and what roles they play in the ecosystem.
Building dams and bridges. He has spent countless hours building dams in our dry creek bed, then watching as the water from our hose fills it up. This kid doesn't stop there though. Then he will make little adjustments, adding spillways and reinforcing areas. Its impressive. He's not allowed to dams the real creek, so there he makes stick bridges and watches as ants and beetles walk across.
