Receive Text UpdatesMy favorite thing about nature is that there’s always something new to learn! It’s like a huge outdoor classroom that’s always changing and giving me something new to discover! Nature is full of surprises—like finding a weird mushroom or a cool animal track. Being a Junior Ranger at Tamarac helps me learn how to protect it all. Nature is never boring, and I want to keep exploring and learning forever!
My favorite animal is the snake! They’re smooth, not slimy, and super cool to watch. I love how they move, how they hunt, and how they help nature by eating pests. I even gently catch and release snakes near our home. I just wrote my first book about 3 capybaras and a wolf, but maybe next time, I’ll write about a snake hero—because snakes deserve the spotlight too!
My favorite outdoor activity is seeing how many Garter snakes I can catch at once! I walk through tall grass and look under logs to find them. They’re fast, but I’m faster! My record is 16 at one time, and I gently hold them before letting them go. It’s not about keeping them—it’s about learning and seeing how many are out there. Snakes are awesome, and Garter snakes are the best!
