What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreDylan says he loves large landforms like mountains and waterfalls. He likes using special tools like binoculars to view them when he is far away. Dylan also says he likes finding animal tracks; his aunt taught him that deer tracks look like “two fingers.” He tries to follow the tracks to see which way the animals went; sometimes he sees them hiding in the woods or fields.
Dylan had a long list of his favorite animals. We do not believe there is an animal he doesn’t like, but Dylan holds an extra special place in his heart for snakes! Dylan says he likes that snakes come in lots of bright colors with fun patterns on their skin/scales. He likes the way snakes change color [camouflage], the way their bodies move, and the different sounds they make.
Dylan says he loves to play outside; soccer, sledding, and swimming are some of his favorite activities. He is excited to visit his grandparents this summer; he plans to go swimming in the channel at Grandma and Papa’s and take a ride on Papa’s boat to look for turtles sunning on the logs. Dylan says he cannot swim in the river at Grandma and Grandpa’s cabin because the cabin is too high up [the hill]. Their cabin is in the woods; he plans to take walks together and climb some trees.
