What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreDuncan absolutely loves geology. He is fascinated by different terrain. He loves looking for geodes and gemstones, arrowheads and fossils. He says that nature is beautiful and teaches us things we can’t learn anyway else! He wants nature to be protected so that his children can experience things that he will never forget, like an African elephant charging through the bushveld or an American bison roaming the plains.
This has changed over the years, but one of his all-time favorite animals would have to be the duck billed platypus! The fact that they look like three animals in one and the babies are called puggles, I mean, who wouldn’t love that! They also are the only mammal that lays eggs! How cool?!
Duncan loves exploring new places, especially if he has his handy magnet with him to find iron in the soil. He loves watching small creatures and learning all he can. He also loves taking pics of plants and trees with mom’s iPhone to identify different species. Fishing with his Papa and swimming in the lake, pond or ocean all have Duncan in his happy place!
