Learn moreWe joke he is the feral child. He loves to be outside. He is huge into any and all animals, he’s continuously asking questions about anything he sees and wants to know more about it and why something is the way it is/how it works etc. He genuinely loves to be outside from sun up to sun down. He’s curious about everything he encounters!
Declan’s favorite animal is a dog. We currently keep dog toys for the neighborhood dogs for him to bring out and give away. He loves the cuddles, kisses, and playing with them. He also loves the wild backyard bunnies and has earned enough trust that they don’t immediately run away. His goal is to have them come up and take carrots from him before the end of summer. Lastly he loves the ducks, fish, turtles and frogs- all plentiful animals in our neighborhood pond.
Declan’s current favorite outdoor activity is baseball- so non animal related. Declan will break from a game mid bat- to chase down a walking dog for cuddles (which is why we started keeping toys to hand out for the dogs, the owners have all gotten to know him). He does however enjoy going through the walking path- watching for deer or a fox, fishing in the pond, or hunting for frogs and turtles.
