Cora loves the outdoors because she can always discover something new. The more she explores the more she wants to protect nature.
Thank you for generously supporting Cora in this year’s competition. Your participation helps empower the National Wildlife Federation in their mission to protect wildlife, restore habitats, and inspire the next generation of conservationists.
What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreCora loves nature’s diversity. She is interested in all it has to offer. From mushrooms, flowers and coral reefs to snakes, vultures and marmots, she is truly in awe of everything she comes across. She is so interested in learning about how everything in nature works and how things work together. She wants to understand as much as possible. She could (and will certainly try to) spend her life finding ways to help protect every aspect of nature.
Cora’s favorite animal is a western hognose snake. Cora really loves all animals but snakes are her favorite. She thinks they are misunderstood. She believes that if people were educated on snakes then they wouldn’t be afraid of them. She loves how silly the western hognose is. She thinks they have a great personality and thinks it’s funny (and smart) when they play dead.
Cora’s favorite outdoor activity is hiking (although there has never been an outdoor activity she didn’t like). She likes that she can see so many different things on hikes. She loves the views, flowers, waterfalls, rocks, wildlife and everything she comes across on a hike. She loves that she can explore and see things you’d miss if you weren’t on foot. She also loves camping, backpacking, paddle boarding and skiing!
