What does Cora love most about nature?

“What I love most about nature is everything— seeing animals in their habitats, looking around with my sketchbook and then drawing what I see, and getting dirty. One time I went to a park where the river was dried up and so my friends and I found a mud pit and got totally covered in mud.” Cora never shies away from getting immersed in her environment. She goes with the flow and takes everything as it comes- which is why I think she loves being outside and observing nature so much.

What is Cora's favorite animal—and why?

“My favorite animals are otters because they are cute and vicious. They are good swimmers and I am a good swimmer, too. They are predators and some people don’t know that and may get too close to them in the wild.” Cora is going to spend the night at the Columbus zoo within their sea lion tunnel- what an experience to sleep under these animals and watch them swim around all night. She loves her animal encyclopedia and often times surprises us with her animal facts.

What is Cora's favorite outdoor activity?

“I love climbing trees. I also like walking on trails at the metro parks with my sister. I’ve even hiked to the top of Rocky Mountain National Park and saw elk there, too. I also love the beach. I could swim and play in the sand all day.” Cora could spend all day outside- climbing trees, snacking on tomatoes from our vegetable garden, bringing nearly every activity outside in her clubhouse. Along with her sister, she completed the 1000 hours outside challenge.
