Getting to go on an adventure and finding cool things like bugs, salamanders, snakes, frogs, and catching fish in nets and seeing cool birds. Discovering the outdoors and the living things that are in it. As well as getting excited to find shinny rock, or maybe hoping it's a fossil he found. Even the endless possibilities to play with a stick.

One of his favorite activities is exploring our yard by pulling back rocks & logs or digging in the dirt to discover what creatures are living underneath. I often catch him in the middle of one of these little expeditions—especially now that we’ve been sifting the composted woodchips from his playground. He’s found all kinds of creepy crawlies & proudly shows off his discoveries. In fact, his enthusiasm has become contagious—our neighbor has even started buying worms from him to add to her gardn
