Colt loves hiking and exploring nature. At Audubon camp he learned about conservation and protecting wildlife, now he teaches everyone!
Thank you for generously supporting Colt in this year’s competition. Your participation helps empower the National Wildlife Federation in their mission to protect wildlife, restore habitats, and inspire the next generation of conservationists.
What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreColt loves how green nature can be, he loves exploring in the springtime when all the leaves are growing, before the buds bloom. Especially after a rainstorm, observing how all of nature works together to grow!
Colt told me his favorite animal is a bear, bears are big, strong, a little scary, and resourceful (always looking for snacks). He once saw a small black bear at our camp two summers ago. This was a very populated area - at night by a fire we heard movement in the woods. A bear came walking along. Not sure who was more startled us or the bear! Don’t worry everyone is safe!
Colt’s favorite outdoor activity is exploring nature, specifically using his magnifying glass to look under rocks and logs. At his nature based camp during April school break they discovered an ant colony, other bugs, and a salamander. It was very exciting to see and learn about the bugs life, and the salamanders.
