Receive Text UpdatesHe said there is not just one single thing that he loves the most about nature because there are so many reasons to love it, but if he had to pick one it’s that it reminds him that we are all part of something much larger. Colt loves nature because every day is something new to discover and learn. He loves listening to the sounds of the birds, squirrels and other animals, trees rustling, water running and feeling the sun, wind or rain on his face. Nature relaxes him.
Colt’s favorite wild animal is the least chipmunk. He had his first encounters with them when we were visiting Yellowstone National Park in 2019 when he was 6 years old, and he has loved them ever since! It is his goal wherever we travel out west to befriend them! He loves them because they are cute, smart, and curious. He also thinks it’s neat that they nest both on the ground AND in trees, and are good climbers and agile because he loves to climb trees himself!
Colt’s favorite outdoor activity is climbing trees (with ropes, harnesses and pulleys). He’s been climbing trees since he was tiny, but started doing it with a harness, rope and pulley system about three years ago. He watched a few YouTube videos about how to rig things correctly, how to tie the right knots, etc. and then he got his first harness and rope and hasn’t looked back! He aspires to be an Arborist when he grows up because he realizes how important trees are, and loves the challenge.
