What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreHe loves all of the different animals that can be found in nature. He thinks it's really cool how animals in nature help each other. He also likes seeing all of the different plants and learning what they’re called and which ones are food for animals or people. He has recently started to enjoy growing vegetables in his granddad’s garden. His favorite thing is exploring the rocks at the river and walking from one bank to the other without getting wet.
His favorite animals (currently!!) are chimpanzees. He likes how similar they are to people and seeing how smart they are. He also thinks they are extremely cute. His favorite thing about them is that they put sticks in ant holes, the ants climb onto the sticks, and then the chimpanzees eat the ants off of the sticks. His most recent other favorite animals include honey badgers, leopards, and any type of snake!
His most favorite outdoor activity is exploring around his granddad and yaya’s ranch in Texas. He loves to go out in the pasture to climb rocks and watch for animal sightings (armadillos, deer, cows, snakes, dung beetles, etc.). He also loves to spend time at the river on the ranch to swim and watch fish, turtles, and alligator gars in the swimming hole. According to him, the coolest animal he’s ever spotted at the ranch is a cottonmouth (water moccasin).
