Carson is wild about wildlife! Inspired by his dad’s YouTube show, he won a film fest for his video on the greenhouse effect and nature.
Thank you for generously supporting Carson in this year’s competition. Your participation helps empower the National Wildlife Federation in their mission to protect wildlife, restore habitats, and inspire the next generation of conservationists.
Carson’s favorite part of nature is fishing—he loves the calm of casting a line and the excitement of a catch. He also finds peace listening to ocean waves crash against the shore, soaking in the sun and salty breeze. Whether he's on a boat or at the beach, nature brings him joy, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for the beauty all around him.
Turtles have always been Carson’s favorite animal for as long as I can remember. More specifically, he loves tortoises—they’ve captured his heart with their slow, steady nature and especially their adorable faces. He’s fascinated by their shells, how long they live, and how calm they seem. Whenever he spots one, his whole face lights up. To Carson, tortoises are not just cute—they’re the coolest animals on Earth.
Fishing is Carson’s favorite activity—whether it’s freshwater or saltwater, he’s always ready to cast a line. Camping at Blanco State Park is extra special because he gets to fish all day, soaking in the peacefulness of nature. If he could, he’d bring his pocket fishing pole everywhere he goes, always on the lookout for the next fishing spot. It’s more than a hobby—it’s his way of connecting with nature and finding joy in the outdoors.
