Start Their AdventureBetse loves everything about nature. She from the moment she wakes up asks to go outside. She equips herself with containers puts on her boots and off she goes. Comes back with all sorts of flora and fauna. We are lucky to live in the PNW and have a vast variety of insects and wildlife she loves to learn about.
She loves snakes. She thinks it’s so fascinating how they can move about and survive with just a long body and no arms and legs! She collects them to look at their different colors and sizes. With zero fear. We live along a river and she will walk the banks to have them come out and they jump in the water she’s right after them!
Simply anything outdoors. Being in nature is her peace and calm. You see her light up, questions never stop coming. You stick her in a classroom all the joy subsides. After school I always get do we have to go anywhere? I’ll say whatever I’m gonna say, her response is always this. “I’ve got to get home and get outside.” She’a always got a goal or mission of what she’s going to try to find today. I wish our school systems understood how important it is to be at one and part of nature.
