What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreAt a young age, he has always been curious about nature and the outdoor environment. He is always investigating earth's materials — sand, dirt, water and rocks (ie fossils). Or looking up and observing the sky, water or land and experience all types of weather. He loves hitting trails with the family, fishing and being on the water or just being outside on our 6 acres. He makes the most of our time at national Parks learning about new habitats or going to nature sanctuary’s.
Bennett loves different animals, so on any given day or hour, you’ll get a different response. He loves learning about animals. When he was originally asked what his favorite animal is - he stated a lion. A lion is loyal, strong & they are protectors. When he was asked again, he stated a chameleon. Chameleons can be rainbow in color. Chameleons have very long, sticky tongues that they use to catch insects. The are really neat & can change color to camouflage themselves or express emotion.
He has many favorite activities, it’s hard to just pick one. He loves and has so much respect for the National Park Service. He makes it a point to work and earn the badges and patches each one we go to. Last summer we went to several Alaska National Parks and several in Arkansas and Northern Mississippi and Louisiana. He also loves to fish with his dad. They take several camping trips on the Missouri River and go fishing. He loves to learn about the river and the environment the fish live in.
