Learn moreThe thing Ben loves most about nature is definitely animals- he connects with them more than humans. He is a gentle and kind child who wishes to befriend every living thing he comes across. Ben is fascinated by animals, from insects to mammals to reptiles, and always wants to learn more about them. He communicates with them in ways that transcend words and feels that they can understand him.
I don’t even know if Ben has a single favorite animal. He loves reptiles and thinks bearded dragon scales are just as warm and cuddly as chinchilla fur. He loves the glow of a moon jellyfish and the wings of a rosy maple moth. Ben frequently cuddles alpacas and happily mucks stalls at the farm across from his school. He sleeps more soundly with his dog than anyone else, and he loves to know the different breeds of chickens we have. He finds pangolins fascinating and aye-ayes hilarious!
More than anything, Ben likes caring for animals- especially our pets and the farm animals across from his school. He also likes going for nature hikes and searching for salamanders and frog eggs in the bogs behind our house. He likes sitting on our porch and listening to the rain, and he likes reading graphic novels in the hammock.
