What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreI love camping because it feels really peaceful. When I’m outside, I feel calm like I can breathe deeper. Nature is huge, and there’s so much to learn! Such as when my family and I go to rivers or camp near streams we look for rocks and have a book to tell us what they are and how long it took to become beautiful, one time my mom found an arrowhead in a stream in mount Rainer, the mountains tell endless stories and histories.
Owls! I think owls are amazing because they stay up all night and talk to each other in hoots. When I sleep outside, I can hear them, and I try to hoot back. They sound kind of spooky but in a cool way, like forest guardians. I like how quiet they are when they fly like they’re floating.
I love hiking, fishing, and camping! I’ve hiked Multnomah Falls all the way up, and I’ve gone crystal hunting at Hansen Creek, I’ve also been to every beach on the Oregon Coast. One time I saw a real beached whale, and we chased orcas from beach to beach just to see them jump. I fish with my family, and I even helped release Chinook salmon into the sound so they could start their big adventure in the ocean we also go to the locks in Seattle just to watch them swim up.
