August is in his element when he’s in the natural world. He cares deeply about all creatures and the environment. He’s a wild man at heart.

August cares deeply about nature because he says that “nature gives us the things we need like air to breathe and water to drink, so we should take care of it. It is also calming and relaxing to be in nature. I feel my best when I am outside.”
“Alligators are my favorite animals because they look like dinosaurs— and I love dinosaurs! They’re super strong and powerful. Their tails can be 200 lbs! Also, they’re from Florida like me!” August also loves all creatures big and small. Even ones that most people consider pests or a nuisance—like mosquitos—he has an appreciation for and will often argue a case for their existence. It’s wonderful to see his loving attitude toward all creatures.
Augusts loves to go camping. He says he loves going on hikes and spending time with family and friends in nature. Finding new trails and discovering things in the wild is so exciting for him. He’s also known to devour a perfectly done s’more or two. He also loves swimming in the many natural springs we have in Florida. Last year he chose to have his birthday at one of our favorite springs. He is truly in his element when he is getting to experience the natural wonders of the world!
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Jr. Ranger, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
