Bug collecting and plant identification. He also loves to rake, in the garden. I forage for a lot of plants and he has always loved to steal fresh fruit off my food plants, he has taught a few children simple edible flowers and I love that he passes the knowledge on.
All things aquatic, Atlas is a real water animal lover especially frogs. We have an abundance of frogs every spring and he builds little habitats and pond areas for the ones he captures, to observe and interact with all day long. We have learned catch and release is important and finding our first floating frog. (Mom didn’t know he had one captured in an enclosed bucket) but that day forward, Atlas learned an important lesson in caring for animals, and what they need.
Running. Swinging. Digging in the dirt. He loves to dig piles and move them around in his make believe construction sites. His imagination is vivid and he takes time to craft his “job sites”. He can spend all day outdoors and still want to stay out longer. A true outdoorsmen.
