What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreFrom a young age, Asa yearned to be outside. He would watch documentaries and want to go find the animals when it was over. He is intrigued by animals in our area and searches for new species around our property.
His favorite animal is a rat snake. He likes that is non venomous. We've removed many from our chicken coop, and he always jumps right in to help hold and release it.
Since he was 4 years old, we spend spring and summer evenings looking for frogs and toads on our 10 acres. We head out just after dark, armed with only a flashlight and a minnow bucket. He has an amazing eye and always finds the amphibians before his parents. We've identified so many species around our property after our nightly adventures.
