What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn more“The food chain works so well that everything stays balanced so animals and plants survive," says Ariston. Whether watching baby robins beg for worms or spotting a rotifer under his microscope, he loves how nature fits together. He’s always careful to put logs back when looking for bugs, because every critter matters.
“A peregrine falcon! They’re the fastest animal on the planet. And I like how their awesome talons make them so good at catching prey. Other animals have talons, but peregrine falcons are unique,” he says.
“Camping, camping, camping! Since humans have so much technology, it can pull you away from nature. I like camping because you learn about real stuff and not just random video game stuff. I like getting wet in creeks, and finding animals where they actually live. That's cool.”
