What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreArian has always been fascinated by waterfalls. He says they look like nature’s slide, always moving and full of energy. He loves how they surprise you—suddenly appearing after a long hike, roaring and sparkling in the sun. He could sit for hours just watching the water fall and splash. To him, waterfalls are magical and powerful, and they make every outdoor adventure feel special and exciting.
My 10-year-old loves bears because they’re big, curious animals that live in places we don’t see every day. He’s amazed by how they explore forests, search for food, and play in rivers. Bears aren’t in our area, which makes them even more exciting and mysterious to him. He reads about them, watches nature shows, and dreams of seeing one in the wild someday. Their curious nature matches his own, and that’s why they’re his favorite.
Without a doubt his favorite outdoor activity is hiking. He loves exploring new trails, climbing over rocks, and pointing out interesting plants or animal tracks. It gives him a sense of freedom and independence, while also challenging him in a fun and healthy way. Hiking allows him to burn off energy, breathe fresh air, and disconnect from screens. For my son, hiking isn’t just an activity—it’s his way of connecting with the world, and I feel lucky to experience that with him.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Jr. Ranger, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
