What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreAnnelise loves that nature gives her the opportunity to help and protect animals in need, like those who are injured, small, or babies. Even when there are no real animals that need her help, she's usually helping animals in make-believe.
Annelise is particularly interested in birds and would love to be a "bird saver" when she grows up. She enjoys how birds come in so many interesting colors and sizes, as well as all of their different songs, nests, habits, etc. You'll often find her in the yard filling up the feeders, singing to the birds, watching them through her binoculars, and looking for them in her bird book. She's dissected owl pellets, practiced bird calls, and collected many feathers.
Annelise loves to go "creek stomping" when she's outside! She is always up for walking through the cold water to look for fish, tadpoles, frogs, crayfish, and other animals. Oftentimes she will try to catch them with her net so we can identify them before setting them free. She isn't afraid to get dirty!
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Jr. Ranger, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
