What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreHe loves finding wildlife and learning about their habitat and different ecosystems. He loves to explore during the different seasons to observe how things change throughout the year and experience nature full circle. Once we took water samples from various sources close to our house and looked at them under a microscope to see the varieties of micro organisms we pass without knowing.
It's really hard for him to choose a favorite. We did a deep dive into opossums a few years ago, now we try to attract them to our yard. A tiny jumping spider landed on our class table a few weeks ago and spent 4 hours with us so we learned all about those. It was a male, as we even learned how to gender identify them.
He loves almost everything outside. He is very observant and thinks deeply about whatever environment he's in. He loves to fish and try to out think the fish. He likes to walk through the woods and find evidence of what animals live there. The most exciting adventure was kayaking in the Indian River in Florida for his birthday. We saw a horseshoe crab! It was very exciting!
