He loves fishing, camping, shooting his bow, running through wildflowers, and telling trees he loves them—rain or shine, he’s outside.

What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreAmos, a nature-loving boy from the PNW, adores trees, water, forest walks, swimming, and hunting for cool bugs. He’s traveled halfway across the country, greeting every tree, mountain, bird, and stretch of grass along the way. He loved the Rocky Mountains and Great Plains and now explores Nebraska’s lakes, parks, and wildlife with the same joy. Nature is truly his happy place.
Amos’s favorite animals are butterflies and giraffes. He loves butterflies because they help the flowers grow and are so pretty, and he likes giraffes because they’re big, yellow, and fun to feed at the Henry Doorly Zoo! He also loves cows, horses, chickens, dogs, and cats—especially when we visit farms. Seeing animals up close makes him so happy, and he’s always gentle and curious. Whether it’s a tiny bug or a tall giraffe, Amos has a big heart for all creatures, big and small.
Fishing and anything water-related are Amos’s favorite activities—especially fishing! He loves watching fry swim from logs and practices casting and reeling anywhere, even without water. He’d stay outside all day if he could. Every day he asks, “Can we go fishing, please?” and tries every trick in the book to get us out there. Nature is his playground, and nothing makes him happier than a rod in hand and water nearby
