What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreMy daughter Alani is 5 years old and has autism. She has a deep love for nature, she’s fascinated by animals, the sound of water, the feeling of the wind, and even the smell of flowers and trees. Nature brings her peace and joy. Whether it’s feeding ducks, exploring parks, or simply feeling the grass beneath her feet, she connects with the world around her in a pure and beautiful way. Her love for nature helps her feel safe, happy, and free.
Alani loves all animals, but her absolute favorite are cats—big or small. From tiny kittens to powerful lions and tigers, she’s fascinated by them all. She watches them closely, mimics their movements, and lights up with joy whenever she sees one. What’s special is that she has no fear; she sees beauty and kindness in every cat she meets. Her gentle nature and love for animals shine the brightest when she’s around cats
Alani’s favorite outdoor activity is exploring parks and nature trails. She loves walking through the trees, feeling leaves in her hands, and splashing in puddles or streams. She’s drawn to water and often stops to watch it flow. Being outside calms her and sparks her curiosity. Whether she’s chasing butterflies, picking flowers, or just sitting in the grass listening to birds, the outdoors is where she feels happiest and most free.
