Learn moreMy daughter Addalyn, age 4, has a deep love for nature. What she loves most about it are the animals. From tiny worms to mighty elephants, Addy adores them all. She’s fascinated by how some are cute and cuddly, while others are wild and strong. To her, animals make the world more exciting and beautiful.
Addalyn’s favorite animals are butterflies. She loves butterflies because they’re colorful, gentle and magical to her. One of her favorite memories is when we hatched butterflies at home. She watched them grow from tiny caterpillars into beautiful butterflies, and it felt like a little miracle to her. Seeing them fly for the first time made her so happy, she still talks about it! I think that hands-on experience made her feel connected to them, and now they’re her favorite animal.
Addy’s favorite outdoor activity is going for a walk, picking flowers and looking for butterflies! She likes smelling the flowers and pretending she’s in a fairy garden. Sometimes we talk to the bugs and name them.
